As a Senior Product designer for iOS and Android app, I was involved in the rebranding of the 🇬🇧 UK's leading public television network's app to improve engagement and accessibility for over 28 million users.
This included visual identity updates, accessibility enhancements, and workflow optimizations, ensuring a modern, user-centric experience.
Rebranding the UK’s largest public TV app came with a unique challenge—balancing a refreshed, modern look while ensuring usability, accessibility, and familiarity for its 28M+ users.
Inconsistent cross-platform experience
Limited accessibility compliance
Inefficient design collaboration
This rebrand wasn’t about new colors — it was about new momentum. I worked across product, design, and engineering to increase accessibility reach, unify platform UX across Android and iOS, and modernize the design tooling itself. By moving to Figma and building a reusable component library, we turned design into a velocity multiplier — supporting faster rollout, more consistent updates, and measurable growth in underserved user segments.
To modernize the UK’s largest public TV network app, I focused on refining the UX and UI while balancing consistency, accessibility, and efficiency in design workflows within the mobile team.
This transition wasn’t just a tool switch — it addressed a key product priority: speeding up feature delivery while reducing design inconsistencies that previously delayed development.
Conducted a UI audit and mapped iOS (HIG) and Android (Material Design) components to unify cross-platform experiences while preserving native interactions. Identified and resolved 40+ inconsistencies to refine visual and functional cohesion.
Moved design operations from Sketch to Figma, improving real-time collaboration and component reusability. Created a structured component library to enhance design consistency.
Implemented text resizing up to 200% and enhanced VoiceOver support, making the app more accessible for visually impaired users. Ensured compliance with WCAG standards while maintaining usability.
Conducted usability testing to evaluate and refine navigation patterns and UI elements. Gathered user insights to optimize interactions and improve engagement while addressing accessibility needs.
The rebranding and UX/UI enhancements strengthened user engagement, accessibility, and design consistency. Key improvements introduced:
The rebranded UK TV app not only modernized the user experience but also made entertainment more inclusive and engaging. By prioritizing accessibility, visual consistency, and workflow efficiency, the redesign delivered measurable improvements in user satisfaction and interaction.
Each improvement contributed to a broader product vision: increasing accessibility, boosting user satisfaction, and improving delivery velocity across both platforms.
Improved navigation and UI updates led to higher interaction and retention rates.
Figma transition and a structured component library reduced iteration cycles.
Enhanced VoiceOver support and text resizing improved accessibility.
